The Love Hate Relationship with CK Undies

Disclaimer: This entry will increase any pro-shopaholic urge to purchase thing out of impulse. If any incident happened, this has nothing to do with this author.

Xmas is rather boring occasion for me. This year is mostly dinner with relative on Xmas Eve and watch Christmas TV programs. Xmas itself was beautiful, sunny 25 degree day but no friends wanted to go out with me, they were busy with their Church, so I was left alone......

Anyway, apart from that, there is something I have been looking forward to! Boxing Day Sales!!!!! I have talked about this day since 2 months ago! Just imagine how anticipating I was! I was hoping I'd have started working, so I can go crazy and start buying all the CK undies that I want. Alas, this dream did not come true. Maybe next year then!

So today I woke up at 6am. Yes, you hear me right, 6 am! And step out of the house 1 hour later with my cousin for the shopping extravaganza! Reached the CBD at 7.30am and it was already quite full with people, especially Myers Supermarket which opened at 5am today!

The first place we attacked? Underwear section! Most of the size were depleting, but there are still some nice one. Trying to keep myself spending a fortune over there, so I end up buying only ONE CK underwear....... I wasn't very happy about this....

Anyway, My cousin was having this impulsive purchases cause things were quite cheap over there. And when were at the Basement, he brought more stuffs while I was stuck with oversized short shorts or one size too small short. I was even more pissed......

Until I finished our very quick morning tea (sushi from Sushi Sushi), I walked into this magnificent shop and I found my Short Shorts!!!!!! I love short shorts (more pictures below), and they actually have size!!!!! So I was out with two lovely purchases!

Then followed by a few after that, all in Melbourne Central! So after 6 and half hours of retail therapy we finally gave up. I was kinda broke, but I did not over spent! Which is a Plus!!!! I was planning to spend only $150 for today, looking at the amount of zeros in my bank, and I only spend $140!!!!

Okay, I was busy shopping, didn't have time to sit and take pictures. So these are the pictures I took when I was going home, and when I am at home (after rejuvenated from my slumber nap!)
Levi's outlet store at DFO (Direct Factory Outlets). People acted as if the stuffs in the shops are free. A bloody long queue for Guess shop over there as well..........

My purchases!!!!! I don't know why they are upside down, can't seems to do anything about that. So please don't strain your neck by looking at them. Cause I have them in individual photo!

Can you see me naked from the reflection? This arvo is a bit hot to wear any tees! Got them cause my old one is spoiled on the day itself. Just so lucky to have this for only $10!

My Short shorts!!!!! If they have anything shorter, I will have brought them!!!!!
My two shirts, I can't seems to find anything I want, and by the time I have mood to buy them, I have already reached my limit....
Happy me with my happy purchases!!!!!

It is not an abandon puppy

I am suppose to write my cover letter for a job application to a research centre in Tasmania. I guess it will have to wait for awhile, after I finished writing this entry. Am I always nagging about job scouting these days? I think I better stop.....

I went back Gippsland last weekend with my few best friends, to meet up with a few more besties. That trip was the most relaxing and carefree trip I have ever done for the past few months. Yeah yeah, I just came back from my food-gorging trip from Penang, I shouldn't complain too much. But the thing about the food gorging trip is stressful in it own way. Stopping myself from devouring all the foods I can is very hard and stressful. Yes, I am bullshitting here!

Where was I? Oh, the trip back to Churchill. The weather was beautiful when we went back. Beautiful to some people, but way too hot for me.... I was down with weather-induced fever at the end of the day. Anyway, it was relaxing and all of us agreed that it felt like going back hometown for Chinese New Year. It was sunny and cloudless, just like the Malaysian weather during CNY. We had our doona and pillows at the back seat, something like most people will do when they went to visit their relatives for CNY, not me, but I can feel it.

But when we were back there, all we did most of the time was gossip, chat nonsense (which I played a big part) and watch PAID TV!!!! How much I missed cable/paid TV. For the first week of my new life without cable, I was pretty much stranded. Cause I do not have internet connection and paid Tv then, now it is getting better. I am going to fast-forward all the fun bits. Why? You probably won't be bothered to listen every single bit that we did over there. So no point for me to write them up.

When the day is about to end, we (the close one) sat together or standing in front of the toilet, chatting away on what are friends for. It was a long debate. People agreeing and disagreeing on certain aspect of true meaning of friends. I guess they are the best companions anyone can get, PROVIDED:

  1. They do not judge you as a human being or a dog. Hey I am not saying anything over there. Who type that for me? I might have binomial disorder. Joking!
  2. They understand what you are going through. No point telling them what turmoils you are facing through if they are well known for their blockhead-ness.
  3. They do not think you belonged to them and solely them.
  4. I think that's about it. No?
So other than that, man's best friends come into the picture perfectly! They enlighten your day easily unless they poo everywhere in the house, they listen and do not judge you. And you do not belong to them. They belong to you! How perfect can that be?

Mouth Taboo

Okay, today I am still not as tired as other days. Since today I did not write my literature review as much as I did most of the days. Past few days, I spend about 6 hours in the office, writing that lit. review, until end of the day, I felt like puking..... This entry I've wanted to write it long time ago. But I am not sure whether people are that open-minded to actually read it. What I am going to write is strictly facts, and those who is still living in denial, please do not read this.
PS. Kids below 12 years old should stop right now! If you have a 12 years old mentality, you should stop right here as well.

What I am going to say?

Some adults stuffs. After staying with the locals for a few months, I realised that they use the F words as common as we use M words (makan). Hahaha. Oh wait, I use Fuck word pretty often as well. Anyway, one day one of my housemate came into my room while I was watching anime. She asked me whether I was masturbating or not. And then the whole house we talking about anime and porns etc etc..... So today I will talk about Masturbation!
Excited? If you felt yucky, please leave now. Who m I kidding? No one will read this blog anyway -------> no comments since.... forever?

From my research from www.gofuckinggoggleit.com;

  • 99% of Guys Masturbate and another 1% are Big FAT Liar
  • Not only that, about 65% of Girls Masturbate too!!! Don't felt offended if you don't. You might be the 35% girls? Hahaha. I am writing this, because some of my friends will shoot me for writing this.
  • So out of 10 guys, 9 or all masturbate; and 6 out of 10 girls masturbate. Wow.
  • The statistic is not finished yet. Kinsey's survey found out that 40% of men and 30% of women in relationships masturbate. How can that be? From 99% to 40%? So there should be 59% of guys are single?
  • But women remained almost the same. Just 6% difference, doesn't make a huge number.
  • Does this means once you get your stigma into someplace wet and wonderful, you will not go out (pun indeed)? And while you have already shove something up that place, might as well continue shoving it when there is no availability. Hahaha
Enough of statistic! Why we masturbate? Tracking back history there are no such obscene activities, or were there? If you have dogs in the house, you will definitely know. DOG do masturbate, humping other objects; Monkeys in the zoo sometime play with their dicks. So those of us who play with dicks are either Dogs or Monkeys? NO F-king Way.

Why so? Some over-conservative people might ask. Okay, this is another list of why We MUST Masturbate:
  • Guys, masturbation prevents prostrate cancer! The more you masturbate, the less chance of you having oversized prostrate and maybe it might burst your lil dickie.
  • Masturbation helps you (both guys and girls) to release stress. Because masturbation induces released of human sex hormones which help us to over come stress!
  • Practice make perfect! Guys you might not want to be a loser and come earlier right? Well practice make perfect! Each partner should practise for a better effect and results. Hahahaha
  • I don't know any other reason. Maybe there is, I might have forgotten. But the three above has already proven well that masturbation is good!
So guys and gals, hurry up and practise! Gals grab what every long-ish and hard, while Guys you know where to grab! Hahahaha. And do I masturbate? I am not a liar, that's it! Hehehehehe

To Hug or Not To Hugz

These days my life is pretty stress. I guess so is everyone. Xmas is nearing and everyone are trying to finish off their work for the year. Husbands and working people might be rushing to finish their part of their work for the year, housewife might be rushing to prepare for the celebrations. Guys might be busy repairing their house or cars for the new year, while girls will be busy with shopping for Xmas.

Today was a total disaster. After the whole day sitting in front of the fumehood, only that I realised that the stuffs I was using is not the correct substances.... So means I need to start again. This doesn't sound good. Two weeks to holiday, and I need to start all over again.... I pray hard to finish it by end of this week.

Since now is the festive season, I might talk about something related to festivals. I, being a semi-conservative person; a kinda open person but still hold on to his roots, find it awkward during some of the time. Looking the locals hug and cheek-kissing each other every time they meet, makes me wonder heaps. I only hug my friends on some occasions (those who are going away, or I might see soon). Maybe it is because of our cultures. Hugging Asian gals upon meeting is definitely a no no. But hugging Aussie gals during the first meeting might be a bit awkward. This is what I felt. I am not sure about others, but I am not that person who will get close and personal in 5 minutes. Of course I have some local friends, and I do hug them (definitely gals) after awhile, only after I became closer to them.

I still remembered last year during Chinese New Year, when I was celebrating with my aunt's relative, I have this awkward vibe when my aunt's sister in-law came over to bid me goodbye. I can see she was thinking whether to hug or shake hand with me, thinking I am a Chinese and rarely do they hug with others. So it turns out to be semi-hug-semi-handshake. AWKWARD.

Okay, enough of crapping. I need to write my report...... It might be holiday and festive season for others, definitely not for me this time this year. Hope for the better future next year!

Penang Chiak in WH33

Sorry guys for the hiatus, been busy being a maid to clean the whole damn house and moving from one house to another...... Can you believe, in this one and half years, I have moved 6 times.... SIX times. I can soon be a professional mover.

I have been looking forward for Saturday for the last 1 week. Really looking forward for the Penang Chiak by three of us, Penangites who still stuck in Moomooland: Jason, Wayne and me. So we make an excuse to cook and talk cock (crap). Besides Wayne is going away soon, so we might as well give him a small small farewell party or some sorts. We are definitely not going to party because the voting for Australian election was up. We were watching Star Wars instead of the Election.

The morning before, we were planning to have a swim. But, because of my cramps on my left leg, I need to abandon the plan and left Jason to swim alone in the big pool. My cramps could be due to the fact that I drove manual car after donkey years and my left leg was hanging in the air most of the time because I need to prepare to step the clutch..... Anyway I will talk about that next time!

So instead of swimming, we went to Midvalley to buy all those ingredients. There is no Laksa's noodles (the Assam Laksa's noodles) so we need to go with kuey teow instead (rice noodle). We have Wing Tse to join us, because she is our housemate and we can't just drop kick her aside right?! So she get to taste all the good Penang foods, which were cooked by three big Penang chefs. After we had the appetizer, which was Fake Shark Fin's soup, only I realised that we need to take the photos of our foods, and make everyone drools like waterfall coming out of their big-round-cave-look-a-like-mouth-that-could-contains-flies-instead-of-bats. Therefore these are the pictures for our lil-Penang-kia-makan-party!

The whole table, without Wayne's Char Kuey Teow. Look how clean is our table, I bloody clean it before the party. In normal days, it is full with stuffs from our local housemates.

Jason Chan's Asam Laksa (I know when people see Laksa, they will definitely think of Curry Laksa, but since Penang is a unique place, she have uniques name for all their foods. Unlike other places!)
Description: It is not as spicy as the one in Penang, but the taste really brings back memories! I miss the sourish and spicy foods!

My Fried Belachan Chicken. Sorry guys I didn't bother making them into the best formations. Cause I am actually drooling and I am a person who emphasised on the taste of the foods, not the presentation.
Description: The belachan taste is nice enough! A bit salty for some people's taste but I like heaps of belachan in it. I am the chef remember! Just follow the Law!!!!
Wayne aka Tee boh eh Char Kuey Teow Ah Pek is cooking one of the famous foods, Char Kuey Teow
His creations, with my photography skills after I am full and in good mood to take some good pictures. At that time, my Belachan chicken are all gone.
Description: Although there is no bean sprouts (Wayne just can't find the bean sprouts, but got scolded by us for being so smart to miss out the bean sprout section.... And there is no fish cakes. But it taste quite nice. I reckon he put enough of oils to make it shiny and oily.

I was busy putting the natta de coco into the cups with Jason drooling and looking desperately for water.

There you goes, this is my dessert drinks (Lychee punch). With a pinch of vodka!
Description: You can taste sweetness from the lychee, and some sour taste from the lemon. And most importantly the vodka taste is there!

Jason wanted to make an extra dessert as well, something like Grilled Peaches, that need heaps of sugar, and eggs.... So we drop that idea since all of us are so damn full, not Wayne though. Wing Tse who can't drink alcohol looks like a bit drunk after drinking the Lychee punch. But I reckon she is being bored. Because with 3 Penangites in the house, they HAVE TO speak Penang Hokkien with each other. This dialect is what brought us together in the first place.

Catch the Cue, Mate. Not the Pool Cue

Disclaimer: This entry is a mere prediction expressed by Lex the author. Any offense should regards as a mere crap.

Past few entries post by Rona in Moomoolander is about a story which I reckon is rather crappy and this related to my entry as well! These are the Links: Crap Story and The After Crap Story. Okay, just to give you a rough idea (for those who are too lazy to see the link), it is a story about a New York guy saw a Melbournian gal in the subway in New York. Call it love at first sight or just mere craziness, he is in loved. But he acted too slowly, and he missed the boat when the gal walk out of the train carriage. However this doesn't stop him, he made a website in search for that gal and hoping someone will reply him with some answer of her whereabouts. And like fairy-tales stories or chick flicks, someone found the gals and they are now happily taking subways together......

Call me pessimist or plain idiot, I don't really believe such thing. If so, why the bloody hell are we still single? Okay, I might have the answer. The answer is: that guy's inner voice is not loud enough. Why so? I will explain more in details later.

I will say, there are heaps of Malaysian (guy particularly) being single for this moment. Maybe half of them? This is because most Malaysian guys are independent. They can cook, ahem!, and most of them are metrosexual, ahem!.

This is a rare sight. Most of the time, three of them will be in the living room crapping leaving Titin behind
Are you wearing the correct shoe, mate?

But the bad thing about this new breed of guys are, they tends to have crush (maybe fall in love) with gals that they know. I guess rarely you will see them going after gals who is walking on the street that look like someone they will fall deeply in love with. That is just not practical. Because people will look at you funny if you tried to start a conversation.

Now you are thinking what is the big deal with going after some gals that they know (maybe not deep, but I should say have acquaintance with)? Okay, if that particular guy ask the gal out (or maybe to have further relationship besides normal acquaintance), and the gal reject, what will become of that guy? Not only he lose his hope, but also a friend (that gal, idiot). The cliff between before and after he blurred those words out are dangerous. He could be flying after that cliff, but he might be falling down the cliff like a lost mountain goat.
This cliff doesn't seems too high, but how painful can it be when u got ass-poked by rocks at the bottom of the cliff.

And this cliff, made people create their own voice in their mind. Some of these voice can be loud like hell, others are more subtle. So you tends to think too much and misses the boats. Like the voice keep asking you, "What If blah blah blahhhhh...." or some sorts. Even when the gals are giving hints (which I reckon are sub-hints), the voice has already covered everything... So gals, don't be put off because the guy doesn't get your ultra small hints. Of course, these doesn't refer to every guy on earth. Like I've just said, some guys' inner voices are rather subtle, and they definitely know when to catch the cue. Even when there is no cue, they will just grab whatever chances they can, with no what-if-voice in them. So not to worry gal, okay?

So guys what do you have to lose? Block the what-if-voice of yours and start working up your ways to gals! Just do it! Don't regret your ass out when someone you like are about 1000km or even 5000km away from you.

Fridge problem

For the past few weeks, I was up to my head with the stupid fridge. Of course it is my lab fridge..... I figured I did not really post any entry on my lab as well as research, unlike some of my friends who tell very interesting stories about their Honours. I guess my Honours project is not as interesting as theirs and definitely hard to explain. I have a bench in the Environmental Lab ( a very wacky old lab) and a shared office.

Back to my lab's fridge. Well I have a fridge to store all my bacteria culture and fungi cultures which I've isolated from the filthy compost that smelt like petroleum and some shit-like waste..... Anyway because of the stupid fridge, all my cultures were contaminated. Even those I've nicely sealed and subculture. I am too lazy to explain everything, basically the cultures I had are not "pure". So I need to reculture them in another agar medium. Now, they (can say all) are contaminated with Aspergillus, one of my fungi. WHY???

This is because the fridge is set at bloody 10 degrees. There is no knob to adjust the temperature.... Even my house's fridge there is a knob for us to tune the temperature accordingly. That day, I spent the 1 hour to clean the whole damn fridge, and disinfect it with alcohol. PS. I did not pour wine/whiskey/vodka/tequila/absinthe into the fridge. I whipped the fridge with what you call a 80% Ethanol. If you were to dare to drink it, I reckon you will die of liver failure, on the spot!

Okay, thinking that the temperature might go down after I've bloody washed it. NO....... What I found next really surprising and yet funny. I found Drosophila flies flying in the fridge. Well at 10 degree Celcius, it is just nice for them to have a Refreshing and Cool time! Even when I bloody send an emails to the fridge manufacturer days ago, there have yet reply to me..... There is no the adjustable knob everywhere, no inside, outside, below and on top of the fridge.......

This is the problem with such tedious project. If you start dealing with bacteria and fungi, everything that you do which has contact with them needed to be sterilised. All waste has to be sterilised as well. Contaminations are inevitable and you just have to pray hard you won't come across contamination (which probably won't happen). The whole actually do smell like fungi ( and I am breathing in all these time, my poor lungs). When I see some of my coursemate projects, they basically do not need to wear gloves everything they do stuffs because they were dealing with plants and enzymes and these are not hazardous. Mine is interesting (to me) but they are pretty hazardous..... So who is to blame? ME. Yes, it is me who should be blamed. For being such a choosy person to choose the project that is very interesting me to, yet kinda hazardous.... Hahahaha.

Okay here two pictures of my lab and office.

My lab bench, with my babies cultures.

My office, with my bibles!

Australian Antarctic Division

Suddenly I have an urge to write this entry. Yes, how pathetic huh? Other people have the urge to have sex, have an urge to eat fatty foods like Maccas, have the urge to join a drink feast, etc etc. But, I have an urge to writhe this entry.... Okay, okay, what is so important that Lex has to write this entry immediately, before he forgets. Well, the urge arises from me wanting to work temporarily for Australian Antarctic Division (AAD). Click on it if you wanted to know more about AAD.

I've been looking at the website for the whole arvo, my anticipation grew stronger and stronger. I love the winter (summer is the worst time ever, 20 years of summer, I had enough), and I love to help out the environment. Just so happen, they are doing several projects about remediation of petroleum! The research I am coincidently working on!!!!! Fat Aunt has suggested this idea to me previously, during the Adelaide trip. I was kinda unsure about that. What pulled me back previously?

  1. I need to wash my hair every single morning, my hair will become oily over the nite.....
  2. I need my electronic stuffs. I need my lappie and musics.
  3. I am kinda urban person, need to city's treat once awhile.
  4. Etc etc.
So what happened to me, that made me change my mind?
Well,
  1. I can shave my hair bald. I am willing to do that, just to go Antarctic. No hair means no worries. Hahaha
  2. I am not working full time in Antarctic!

This two reasons are enough for me to go there desperately! So what is my plan?

  • After my honours, I try my best best to get Aussie PR, and then get a stable job. Mostly related to research and environmental microbiology.
  • Work my ass off for one year, without break.
  • Take my accumulated leaves to work with AAD!
  • Go to Antarctic as Temporary Worker for Remediation of petroleum in Macquarie Island!!!!
Really really really hope my this dream can come true!!!!!! But this plan takes a bloody long time. Hope I still have the same fire in me after 2 years. Hahahhaa.

Religions

Food of the Day: Belacan Fried Mantis Prawn (Lai Lui Har)

If you looked carefully, I had a lot of foods that I wanted to eat that is in Belacan. Yes, I LOVE Belacan so that much. Besides most of the good Penang foods has some Belacan in it. It is either a love it or hate relationship: Westerner might find it unbearable, just like durian; but personally, it's fragrant is top notch!

Okay okay, I have 10 mintues left, before I need to return to my studies.... Low life ay?.... Recently, I refuged back to my aunt house for the weekend, after my Bioactive final exam. WHY? Heaps of people asked me that, since I still have two more papers, one is at TOMORROW.... Yet, I am writing this blog..... Oh, back to the main point, I went back to city because Dalai Lama came to Melbourne!!!!

My aunt who is a benefactor forDalai Lama, so I get to go to see him close-up. Okay, reach city on Friday, but I only went to the teaching on Saturday. When I stepped in the Rod Laver Avenue stadium, what I saw surprised me.

Before saying what is so surprising, I shall tell you people something. Almost every Sunday, when I am in city, I will follow my aunt to an Indian Bhajan (chanting session). When I first arrived in Aus, I was surprised to see there are some Aussie in the Bhajan, don't even mention they can sing the indian chanting better than I do. Back to the Dalai Lama teaching, in the stadium, it was dominated by two third of Aussie, with BLOND hair. Local Aussie, I do not mean Asian Aussie, came all the way from Adelaide. They even wrote down every single deep teachings that I myself (a Buddhist) could not understand and half asleep.... Hehehehehe. Not a good Buddhist ay?

Yeah, then when I was chatting with my Ammie, she was saying world is mixing. Yeah, true. Asian following Westerner religions (Christianity), while the Westerner (including the Aussie) follow Asian religions! Any religion is better than no religion at all. Dalai Lama did stress that religion is very important even in this century.

Disclaimer: I am not prejudising about other religions. I have no right to do that. So please regard this entry of this idiot as craps.

Pai-Kah (敗家)

Food of the Day: Bak Chang/ Yuk Chung (Meat Dumpling)

Okay, this entry is about Pai-Kah. This noun is a word derived from Cantonese to describe people who are spendthrift, not of their own money. If it is in the dictionary, it goes like this:

Paikah [pä-ahy.kahr]
- noun
1. A spendthrift.
2. A person who spends his/her parent's money without thinking.
3. The person (only need one) to make the whole family goes bankcrupt.
4. The influence that had gone to the poor people as well

Paikah Chai/pä-ahy.kahr.chī/A person (male) who spend his parent's money without thinking
Paikah Lui/ pä-ahy.kahr.loo-ee/ A person (female) who spend her parent's money without thinking.

Nowadays, paikah influence, or for short paikah-ism, has spread to every kid in the house, rich poor families could not run away from that. In the feudal century in China, family with paikahs means that they are damn rich, and the paikah chai or paikah lui will definitely finish the family's hard earned money.

In this century, everything you do need money. Everyone is paikah. When you wanted to go out for dinner with normal friends, you spent like $20-$30 per meals. You won't want to squat at the road side to eat durians anymore, which cost you RM3-4 per durians. Ps. I have no idea what is the price, cause I don't eat durian: they smell awesome, but the texture is not my favourite. When you go out for shopping, who would want to go buy a cheap clothes from market, printed with lousy simbols etc. I definitely like to buy something nice, regardless the price.

Then, being influenced by the public, graduants will definitely go for graduation trips. That trip alone, might cause half the price of a honeymoon, but the graduants are only a not-yet-employed, so-called-unemployed-people. Leeching parent's money to go for expensive places and spend the fortune.

Those who spend more than A$25k per year for tuition fees could not be regarded as paikah. But to those whose their parent spend this same fortune, but you still play a fool and fail at least 2 units per semester, is the worst off all.... Units that needed to be retake cost the same price a normal units, if not more.... Don't make me start on flight tickets....

By the way, I admit I am one of the paikah chai. Although I work my ass off sometime, the amount I spent is definitely more than the job wages I had. Hahahahaha..... Totally different from my sister who is an independent person, and do not need any money from my parent. Salute and envy with her. Hehehehhee.

Live your life to the fullest (The Entry)

Food of the Day: Not in the mood to think such thing

I should have post this entry long time ago. But everytime when I planned to write entry for this blog, I tends to forget about it.

Virginia Tech's shooting has passed so many days, now only I started writing about it. But another major event reminds me about writing this one. Thanks.

Life is so fragile, one minute you might be thinking how bad is your life, and another minute you might be dead. Shot by some unknown. Or you might be 'hitting mossie' (means you have nothing to do), and without you knowing it, some dengue mossie bite you and you are dead meat!

Take Virgina Tech's people for example. For Chris (One of the victims whom I took in random, no specific reason), it might be just another day of lectures for him. He went to class early in the morning, feeling sleepy. Sat in the engineering class that is drop-dead boring, and started 'fishing' in the lecture hall. He might be so sleepy that he can't even hear the shooting going on outside, somewhere.

Then, SUDDENLY, someone came into the lecture hall, before he knows it, Chris is shot "bang", dead.

Sad huh........... So, please cherish your life. No matter how suck they become, it is better than those without one.

Fire Hazardz

Since Vivz wanted to know what had happened to that incident last week, I shall write it over this entry.

If you people are back from holiday last week, and actually went for class, you might see heaps of fire trucks and ambulance over the Gippsland Campus Main Reception. Well this is what happened.

On Thursday, early in the morning, we had lab block which started from 9am to late in the evening of 6 pm. What is a lab block?
I am a science student, and what makes science student lost their life? Labs. Yes, we need to attend laboratory session every week, and carry out experiments regarding to our units. What is a lab block then? It is laboratory session which comprised of 1 week time, maybe lesser, and they the whole day, normally 9 am to 5pm.

And on thursday we have Bioactive Chemistry Lab Block, which involved in extracting organic proteins from materials. Okay back to the incident. On that day, we need to carry out 2 experiments at the same time. Extracting terpenes (something for you to find out, if you are interested, and have the hell of the free time) and setting up for the next experiment.

While setting up the next experiment, I've not done the extracting terpenes yet, we suddenly heard Micheal shouting loudly from the other side.

Ahhhh, Ahhhhh, Ahhhhh,......

He came over our side whole shouting and I saw his lab coat was on fire! Quickly he put the fire on his lab coat off. Amazed, I looked over his table, and I saw huge fire over the side of fumehood..... The fire was so fierce I could see Royce was stunt because of it. I was stunted as well.....But the fire was out after awhile, luckily.

Within a minute, we, only science faculty, need to be evacuate from the lab. Standing outside the assembly point for 1 hour, before heading to cafeteria for a free drinks! Waiting for the firemen to do something with that chemical spills and others just stand there for some huha. hahaha

Micheal's was slightly burned and was sent to the hospital. Luckily he was wearing safety goggle, if not, the flame will get onto his eyes.... Then it got me thinking.

What if this thing happen in Monash Malaysia Campus? What will happen. PS. The following thought was my prejudice thinking.

If this thing happen to Monash Malaysia, the whole campus is needed to be evacuated, because the laboratories are underground, and the whole campus was onto of the laboratories.

Micheal, if he studied in Monash Malaysia, will be damaged severely. Why?
  1. They don't use safety goggle
  2. They don't normally perform experiments in the fumehood

Maybe the whole campus will be ignited because the Malaysian fire department are inefficient.

Micheal will not be send to hospital right away. Just left him sitting around the corridors....

Why all these things might happen? Because the Malaysian are simply not prepared for these things to happen.

The City is alive!

Most respected person in Melbourne CBD, non-stop hulahoop for days

When you wake up, and you look out of your window, what do you see and hear? If you are staying in the city, what do you see and hear?

Car?
Smokes?
People opening the department stores?
Noises from traffic jams?
From these, do you think that the city is alive?
NO!!!

The city is not alive by these noises and these craps.....

It is the street performers who make the city (any city) alive!

They bring music into the city, instead of some kind of music from the department stores, they bring laughter to the city, they bring people to attention, and the most important thing is they bring LIVE to the city.

Every time I went down to Melbourne, I see people performing at every corner of the CBD (Central Business District). People with expensive guitars and stands. People that look like they slept at a trash corner somewhere. People who have decent looks playing on drum that is made of tins and basket. Kids playing X'mas songs with their electrical organ, saxophones. People from all different races.

What are their purpose. You might ask.

Each of them have different purpose. So are everyone on this lonely earth. Some of them are chasing their dreams in performing related business. Some of them are doing it so that they won't have stage-fright. Some of them have only one purpose. To earn a decent money, without breaking the law.

I, being my naive self, always think that money is easy to earn. Maybe I've not in such situation where I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel. But, there is always but, I got kick back to reality for this moment after watching The Pursuit of Happyness. This movie tells us about how bad can your luck be. Some people need money so desperately, that they hold dear to their 5 dollars like it is 1,000 bucks. These people on the street, some of them just want to earn so decent money. They do not give up no matter how deep they fell. Like the most famous person in Melbourne, not John So the Melbourne Mayor; the Asian guy doing hulla hoop for days without stopping for meals. Yes, he is the guy above!

I have never seen him, standing with his own leg, and have a meal before. Most of the time, when I am in the city, I will see him performing along Bourke Street or Swanston Street. He is that good, and determined to earn enough money for him to eat his dinner.

When I got tired of window shopping around city, the place you can find me is around Bourke Street Mall. I'll just sit there and see people perform. Aussie guy playing Chinese instruments; aussie guy blowing didgeridoo; bands playing in front of Myers Department Store; etc etc. They help me to kill some times before I heading back to Spotwoods, my aunt place.

Band performing at Bourke Street Mall, possibly outside Myers

I always pay them some money, coins every time I passed by. AND I URGE you people to do the same. We should appreciate such people. Without them, city would not be so alive.

P.S. It is ashame that Asian cities just don't have such things.

P.SS. Next time I am going to talk about graffiti. That I'll leave for next time.

Metrosexual Blokes

Seen my lab block finished earlier, I shall write more craps onto my blog!

What you people might notice these days are guys are becoming more metrosexual orientated. What is metrosexual, one may ask. Metrosexual meant guys who take good care of themselves, with expensive products which gals normally will use. Let's start from top to toe.

Hair - Nowadays guys only spend 20 bucks and above on their haircut. Unlike the golden days, where a normal bloke will only go for 5 bucks cut (P.S. by the Indian barber). Any salon shop with the name Barber, are doomed to be bankcrupt except they are in rural area. I don't understand what really happen to the Aussie salon, they really sucks.... The way they cut our hair really make me regretting everytime I ever come out of the Aussie salon. So I've decided to go Asian stylish salon instead! About hairdo, Asian are definitely better. The hair colour might not be their natural hair colour, with all the highlighting and dyes. Some guys will even go to the extreme, curl perm (>.>) or straight perm their hair! Every morning, they need to be blow dried, style with matt gum/ matt wax then followed by hairspray to keep the style throughout the day.

Face - These days, there are all kind of facial washing for Men. L'oreal for Men, Nivea for Men, Clinique for Men, etc etc.. Before such trend are conformed, guys just wash their face with normal soap. Which my dad still do.... Blokes with pimples are just plain bad luck. But now, blokes wash their face with these facial cleanser, followed by conditioner, then even some with lotions.

Eyes - Gals put stuffs over their eyes to cover the eye-bags. Blokes? There are new products which help blokes to reduce their eye-bags. I have no idea what advantages on that... Not that gals will look at those for long...

Mouth - Well, I should put all these stuffs into face, but what the heck. Okay, what do you do if your mouth are dry and started cracking in winter time? Some blokes will put lip-gloss. I have had a lip-gloss for Men, no taste and smell! I don't want to smell like a gal with strawberry lip gloss.....

Clothes - Unlike the 80ties, blokes in this century spend quite a lot of time, matching clothes before going out. Brown colour shirt definitely cant go with brown pants and brown shoe.... But we only do such thing only for dates! If hanging out with your bloke friends, I don't think most of us will care. Some of my bloke friends actually worked in a boutique, just to get cheap clothes out of the store. By the end of the month, his money will be mostly gone back to the store, instead of using it as daily expenses. Others only wear Quicksilver/Billabong clothes. No matter how crazily overcharged are those clothes.
Perfumes - Perfume, yes perfume. They are not only the best friends to gals, to men as well. Some of my friends are crazy with perfumes. One for different occasions. They are not cheap, especially in Malaysia. But we can get quite a reasonable price in Australia. Father's Day, perfume can go down to only 20 bucks per bottle. Don't even mention Mother's Day.

Shoes - Which blokes don't have more than 2 pairs of shoes? One shoe for normal casual wear, one for formal wear. Aussie definitely have one or two things about thongs.

These are now, or maybe for some people. In future, most blokes definitely will be heading to the pedicure/medicure salon for their nails... Putting cosmetics when going to some places..... etc etc. So pardon us, if in the future, we need to powder our nose also before going out for a date. hahaaha. All we need to do are; take a good shower (hopefully not a bubble bath), wash our face, apply some lotion on our faces, apply the anti-eye bag lotion, change our clothes, dry our hair followed by styling and hairspraying, spray a few puff of perfume, wear our shoes and we are ready to go! ahahahaha.

P.S. I, myself, am a metrosexual blokes, not going to argue about that. What I hope is that I don't been influenced by the norm to go pedicure center someday... Metrosexual blokes are not gay, and will not be.

Mahjong麻雀

These few days I did not blog as often as I did. This is because MAHJONG! I started playing mahjong only after I reach Australia... First game was in Daylesford's vacation house, played with one bunch of aunties and gay uncles (they are my aunt's mahjong group friend)...

Then last last week, Kelvin (my housemate) start asking people to play mahjong. Although I played a few games in Daylesford, we were playing beginner mahjong. No "13 yu" no this and that.... Play the few round, but really suck in that. I had no idea how to do strategies. Luckily Kel still good enough to teach me, using the hard way.... He might be a good teacher, but the method of teaching he used is something like the Singaporean Army Force (SAF).... Okay, let's introduce to people what is Mahjong.

It was believe Mahjong derived from Confusious, THE greatest philospher of China. Like normal poker cards, every pattern have 4 similar tiles. There are big tiles: East, South, West, North, Red Dragon 中(middle), Green Dragon (prosperity), White Dragon (white board). Then of course you have Dots, Bamboos, and Character tiles.
Mahjong is a very good game because it need you to think quite a lot, when you are doing strategy. What kind of strategy? Well depends on your luck as well. They said when you loved your tiles enough, all the good one will come to you. If not, the one that you throw out, will come back.... Anyway, not going to talk much about mahjong. Want to know more, go google it yourself. Busy playing mahjong.

Hormones

Your body is in constant change!!! You started to grow when the hormones in your body increase your cell metabolism. Let's be more specific and choose a specific spot to elaborate this terminology.

When you reached adolescence, some part of your body will increase in size, because of the hormones in your body.
It become bigger and filled with blood.
In adolescence, you still can't control It's growth.
When It grows big, you will be embarrassed and tends to hide It away.
When you are curious about that It, and you played with It, It will burst with some kind of juice...
After all the juice is out of It, you will definitely feel good of yourself.
When blood start coming up from It, you will be worry...
Hair might start to grow, and if you are influenced by the norm of the community, you start shaving It.
Sometime, It will bleed when you shave It... And it hurts real bad.
But when you become older, you'll spend less time with It.
It no longer grow as much as you recalled, and you can control It already.
It won't come up when you don't want It to be.
To some people, It has it's own name.
But to some uncreative person, It's name started with P-
By now, You people should know what It is.

Drawn Together

From L-R: Wooldoor, Toot, Ling-Ling, Foxxy, Xandir, Clara, Spanky Ham, Captain Hero

These few days, if you see what I am doing in my room, I am kinda hooked to this cartoon called Drawn Together! This nice little innocent cartoon is an animated reality show from America, in which 8 famous cartoon characters are drawn together and so happen to be in the Big Brother House! (Those who stayed in a Western countries should know what is Big Brother Show).

Similar to Big Brother (where all the casts are real people), Drawn Together touches: incest, homosexual, sex, spousal abuse, racism, etc etc. But it is not as harsh as South Park and had some Simpsons stupidity. Some of the joke is awfully lame, but at the same time not that completely lame because it is a cartoon!

This is the characters in the animated reality show:

  • Captain Hero - perverted, macho egoist Superman, along with other superheroes characteristics

  • Foxxy Love - a character from Josie and the Pussycats. She sounded perverted and loved SM as well.

  • Princess Clara - racist, naive, and pampered princess (in the form of Ariel from Little Mermaid; but no fishtail)

  • Ling-Ling - Pikachu from Pokemon, but speak pseudo-Japanese gibberish....

  • Spanky Ham - the funniest character, that Ben Ben like the most. ( I prefer Foxxy Love!)

  • Toot Braustein - fat-love-eating-bitch character from the oldies, Betty Boop.

  • Wooldoor Sockbat - cute but weird, in a form of Spongebob Squarepant

  • Xandir Wifflebottom - homosexual game character from The Legend of Zelda

It is an awesome cartoons and I urge you perverted people to watch it!!!!!! Aussie channel is in SBS, Monday 9-9.30pm. But I have already downloaded the Season 1 and 2. You might as well download it from internet!!!!!!Speaking of perverted, Yannick did say, "This cartoon will increase your pervertism (pervertism - word I made it myself)". How many guys out there are not pervert? I reckon all of us are!!!!! Hahahaha. Don't you dare disagree with me..... Some of my friends (both blokes and gals) said, "Guy/Bloke who is not pervert, is not a guy/bloke".

When you walk past a beautiful gal, or even some other people missus, you will definitely check her out! And when you walk with your bunch of friends (all guys), you people will speak to each other using your eye-brow in the way you can tell him/them to look at the particular pretty! I won't said it out loud about the blokes secret gesture!!!!! Sorry all my missus!!!

Oversea Studies

For the past few days, I have zero idea and craps to put into this crapspot.com. Weird huh? The most crap person becomes a normal person once awhile. Hehehe. Now I want to start crapping again. Seen we started our new semester. A new first semester for some juniors/newbies and old last semester for people like me (us!).

To those who just bump into this blog accidently, I am currently studying in Australia and am studying oversea. Studying Oversea... You might think that my dad is bloody rich, to be able to send me all the way to Aus. You are totally wrong. My dad and I are poor people. Just have enough money to study oversea.

These characteristics are known throughout the globe:
  • If you are Asian, and you study Abroad, your dad Must be Damn Rich.
  • If you are Asian, and you study Abroad, you Must be Pai-Kah (rich kid who spend their money without thinking)

All these characteristics are damn wrong. I am not pai-kah (okay slightly, when I saw something I really want). Besides that, I don't simply buy stuffs, just for it... I could spend the whole day walking around Melbourne CBD and did not buy anything (except Eating). Most of my friends do not have a car, and we (Asian) cook for most of the meals, just to save a few bucks. All of us know how bad our dads worked... How hard they earn the money just for us to study abroad.

Most of us did try to find some part-time jobs. But most of us (Gippy people) fail to find a job, because we lack of transportation (no car, need to spend another AUD20k++) and some Science kids do not have time. Someone just told me directly that, You are Privilege. To be able to come Australia, you are way better than other people. blah blah blah...

The thing is I never felt PRIVILEGE at all. I am feeling lucky. Not privilege. Privilege this word is way too strong and somehow rude.... If you feel privilege, you ought to come here. No matter what, you must get what are you looking for. I don't. I am feeling Lucky because I get to come here and continue my degree in Science.

Okay, need to clear another thing. There are some rich kids do spend their parents money like drinking water. I see heaps of such people in Aus. Just like the proverb 'one bad apple spoils the barrel'. It only need one Pai-Kah Chai to bring the whole International Student Community down. I had some friends, their families are like millionaire... They went abroad to study, but most of them did not success in obtaining the degree. Why? They were busy playing and partying which need money (there is no 'S' for money, if there is, it will be more than 1 's').

So, this entry is to tell those people not to judge a certain group of people by their main cover page.

Chinese New Year 春節

Every year around this time, it has to be the most important holiday in every Chinese communities! Chinese New Year: the new year celebration or the harvest celebration or the first day of spring celebration. Chinese New Year is the time where people wear their new clothes, clean their house (before the First day of CNY), get more spending money from the 'Ang Pow' or money from gambling with your relatives, and reunion dinner. I suppose it is similar to Christmas for the Western culture; instead of giving presents which might not be useful to the person, you give money to him/her. And only people who are married need to give out such thing. Hehehe.

Well, CNY definitely changed heaps since I was very young. Some people did say that the CNY will become less meaningful when you grow up by each year. When I was small, we (Malaysian) still could play fire crackers. I still remember, 1 weeks before CNY, I've already played about rm100 of fire-crackers. They consisted of Chicken, Bee, Dinosaur's Egg, etc etc. Those 80-ies babies from Malaysia will know what I mean. That was when I was still in primary school.

When I went into secondary school, the government had already banned fire crackers. Back then I still have the elders giving me thick-moneyful-ang-pow, and my Ang Pow money can go up to about rm500 everyyear. Not very much, but still a big amount for a kid. When elder started going (you know where I meant), and kid becoming more grown up, CNY was just another holiday.

Since the death of my granny, my family rarely go to Granny house for the First day of CNY. Although my uncle still staying in Granny house, we just don't see the point of going there. Instead, my past 2 years of CNY involved of us travelling to some other place. Less cousin and relatives are going to sit together and chat and play card games/mahjong. Even these years around, we guys don't buy that much new clothes anymore. It was used to be like 5 sets of new clothes (more for the gals), but now, it is just not practical to go hunt for 15 sets of clothes. I rather stay at home and play computer games. Hahaha.

This year is even worse. I won't be going back Penang for CNY because my semester going to start 1 week after CNY, and my summer project hasn't end until the Fifth day of CNY... I reckon I will be missing CNY next year as well. Oh well, change is inevitable.
Okay better go back to my 8k report... 恭喜發財 (Gong Xi Fa Chai/ Kung Hei Fatt Choi/ Keong Hee Huat Chai)
