Oversea Studies

For the past few days, I have zero idea and craps to put into this crapspot.com. Weird huh? The most crap person becomes a normal person once awhile. Hehehe. Now I want to start crapping again. Seen we started our new semester. A new first semester for some juniors/newbies and old last semester for people like me (us!).

To those who just bump into this blog accidently, I am currently studying in Australia and am studying oversea. Studying Oversea... You might think that my dad is bloody rich, to be able to send me all the way to Aus. You are totally wrong. My dad and I are poor people. Just have enough money to study oversea.

These characteristics are known throughout the globe:
  • If you are Asian, and you study Abroad, your dad Must be Damn Rich.
  • If you are Asian, and you study Abroad, you Must be Pai-Kah (rich kid who spend their money without thinking)

All these characteristics are damn wrong. I am not pai-kah (okay slightly, when I saw something I really want). Besides that, I don't simply buy stuffs, just for it... I could spend the whole day walking around Melbourne CBD and did not buy anything (except Eating). Most of my friends do not have a car, and we (Asian) cook for most of the meals, just to save a few bucks. All of us know how bad our dads worked... How hard they earn the money just for us to study abroad.

Most of us did try to find some part-time jobs. But most of us (Gippy people) fail to find a job, because we lack of transportation (no car, need to spend another AUD20k++) and some Science kids do not have time. Someone just told me directly that, You are Privilege. To be able to come Australia, you are way better than other people. blah blah blah...

The thing is I never felt PRIVILEGE at all. I am feeling lucky. Not privilege. Privilege this word is way too strong and somehow rude.... If you feel privilege, you ought to come here. No matter what, you must get what are you looking for. I don't. I am feeling Lucky because I get to come here and continue my degree in Science.

Okay, need to clear another thing. There are some rich kids do spend their parents money like drinking water. I see heaps of such people in Aus. Just like the proverb 'one bad apple spoils the barrel'. It only need one Pai-Kah Chai to bring the whole International Student Community down. I had some friends, their families are like millionaire... They went abroad to study, but most of them did not success in obtaining the degree. Why? They were busy playing and partying which need money (there is no 'S' for money, if there is, it will be more than 1 's').

So, this entry is to tell those people not to judge a certain group of people by their main cover page.

Gosh, it has been 10 days seen I post an entry. Sorry guys, this is the result of Chinese New Year bloging moodless and I was kinda busy with the O-week. This year I am a mentor for some poor young soul who just came to University. Oh, I was busy finishing my 8k report as well. Finally handed in that stupid thing!!!!

Okay, back to CNY. This year was different as compared to the time I celebrated in Malaysia. The CNY eve, we went to eat some Northen Chinese cuisine in Dumpling King in Box Hill. Not bad, but the place was kinda hot. It was 38 degree outside and inside is worse... Then the first day of CNY (Sunday, lucky, cause CNY is not a public holiday) we went for dim sum for brunch! Was in Plume at High Point and the place was chock a block with people (Mostly Chinese, Vietnamese etc etc)... Did not get as much ang pow (red packet) as the time in Malaysia, anyway, it is only my aunt.

Then went back to gippy on Tuesday. Right after I reach gippy, I was in a busy mode. Tuesday nite went for Free Dinner at Student Union Lounge. Wednesday we got the Meet the Mentor session, which I am the Mentor. After the games and stuffs, we need to prepare for the Flag Ceremony. This year I am holding the Japan flag!!!! Whoopas! Thursday was the day I surrender my report at 11pm... and Friday was the International Big Day Out. The places in the BDO was fun, but I liked the Aussie Bush Dance the best!!!! You might think that it is an aboriginal dance, it is not. Fool You, and me. It was some traditional country dance, something like the Scotish and Irish dance.

It is time to stop this crapping. Class is starting real soon....

Nomadic Life (Part II)

Erin (name taken from Miss Australia 2006!)
Jamie (from Big Brother Show winner 2006!)

Just moved into a new house again.... South this time. So far, I've stayed in North House, South Unit and West House. Luckily there is no East....

Was very very tired yesterday. Packed my rooms and moved to the South...All by myself. Need to start making the bed position and table and stuffs right after I reached the South unit... Now my back is pain, because of the shifting of the furniture and stuff.
Okay you people might wonder why am i putting the two pictures on top. They are skink, and they lived in my West House. Erin (from Erin Jensen) is living below my room's backdoor veranda! When the sun is up, she will sit on the veranda to bask!! Like Erin.
Another picture is Jamie. He is not a good boy (same as the person in Big Brother). Yesterday, while waiting for the people to come and fetch my stuffs from West to South, I went and took heaps of their pictures. Hahaha.
Why Jamie is not a good skink? When I was taking his picture, he ran away to West29... Leaving Erin basking alone in the sun, on my veranda...And that guy like to hide below the house dustbin....
Oh was happy with my presentation today. Actually heaps of stuffs happened because of that presentation. I don't think it is a good idea to boost in my this modest blog, hehehe, want to know more, come and ask me personally.
Trying to make my South room as cosy as possible. I have more stuffs than before I moved to West... Need to accomodate the standing fan, heater, clothes horse etc etc, while putting them in a position that they are not in the way.
Oh, going to miss the Black Rock Skinks in West House.... So long farewell. I can't bring them to South, they are wild and they do not like me disturbing them... Guess need to tame the rosellas and the galahs outside my South house. Hehehe. Maybe should try to pet some kangaroos as well. Hehehehe.
I wonder the ex-West25 people know about Jamie and Erin?

Up Yours

Don't be too shock to see my title. I am not drunk, not PMS-ing, not etc. etc. I am bloody guy for Pete sake, where got PMS. Anyway I was super cranky yesterday because of some bloody f-king idiot. Who think she is bloody damn beautiful, pretty that she can take advantages out of everyone, including the poor soul of people around her, called "FRIENDS"

How can people so KIASU (terminology, that need you to go bloody check it out yourself). How can you compared your life, or University results, etc. etc. with other people? Crikey! Get your own life....How can you called someone a FRIEND just when you want to take some advantages from that person, and bloody damn good in acting as if you "Care".

You might be shock when you see this entry in this bloke, whom everyone around him regard him as a TemperLESS person and so on and so forth...Knock yourself up, I am just a normal human. You want to know, what happen to this bloody poor guy, that got so berko? I am not only cranky of that person, I am cranky because of myself being a alf. Let me tell you all why and bloody hell, better listen properly.

It bloody happened last 3 months ago. That was during the time where people rush to get tips for the final exam. I had few friends from Malaysia, who think that asking me to ask Phil who is the bloody alf who prepare the paper could do any good. The bloody f-king truth is this Phil is as cunning as a dingo. Okay, well, I don't mind helping, because I myself are taking that bloody damn hard unit. Then come that idiot, lets bloody call her "Ms Pretty", who came out of nowhere, after being bloody lost somewhere. Ms Pretty, not only asked me about Phil unit, she asked me to go HUNT tips from units that I don't even take/enrol.

Blimey! I asked her back, "Test is approaching, how can I do such thing?, I don't need to study?" You know what that bloody damp squib said? "You so CLEVER, no need to studylah". Wtf?
This bloody idiot definitely do not know me, after being 'friend' for 3 years... Am I a bloody genius here? I am just a dill/battler... I work my ass off just to get the results today. Suddenly I am being smart, just because someone needed my bloody help. Up yours!

Okay, that was 3 months ago. I was bloody nacked that time. But I did went and destress to my other friend. She just told me to stop answering that bloody damp squib's MSN message. Since it was just MSN, I can close it. Well, that's why I am so cranky about myself. I forgot about that after 3 months, and I answered that Ms Pretty MSN message again.

This time, it is about applying for Permanant Residence in Aus. Come out of nowhere again, and asked only about PR. Okay, fine. Why do you need to find me, only when you are in need of something? Can't you just go to places like GOOGLE and knock yourself off? Why do you need to come and find me? Oh, just because I am a "Know It All" person to everybloodyone? What now you want me to go HUNT for you the requirement for Western Australia? Bloody hell, I am in Victoria, 24hours away from Perth, by driving. Nick off.

Luckily I still have some friends whom I can count on. Ta to those guys who willing to listen about my stupidity trouble. To those who happen to have such behavior, go bloody educate yourself. Friends should not be taken advantages off. Get your bloody mind straight, and DO NOT step on my tail!

Chinese New Year 春節

Every year around this time, it has to be the most important holiday in every Chinese communities! Chinese New Year: the new year celebration or the harvest celebration or the first day of spring celebration. Chinese New Year is the time where people wear their new clothes, clean their house (before the First day of CNY), get more spending money from the 'Ang Pow' or money from gambling with your relatives, and reunion dinner. I suppose it is similar to Christmas for the Western culture; instead of giving presents which might not be useful to the person, you give money to him/her. And only people who are married need to give out such thing. Hehehe.

Well, CNY definitely changed heaps since I was very young. Some people did say that the CNY will become less meaningful when you grow up by each year. When I was small, we (Malaysian) still could play fire crackers. I still remember, 1 weeks before CNY, I've already played about rm100 of fire-crackers. They consisted of Chicken, Bee, Dinosaur's Egg, etc etc. Those 80-ies babies from Malaysia will know what I mean. That was when I was still in primary school.

When I went into secondary school, the government had already banned fire crackers. Back then I still have the elders giving me thick-moneyful-ang-pow, and my Ang Pow money can go up to about rm500 everyyear. Not very much, but still a big amount for a kid. When elder started going (you know where I meant), and kid becoming more grown up, CNY was just another holiday.

Since the death of my granny, my family rarely go to Granny house for the First day of CNY. Although my uncle still staying in Granny house, we just don't see the point of going there. Instead, my past 2 years of CNY involved of us travelling to some other place. Less cousin and relatives are going to sit together and chat and play card games/mahjong. Even these years around, we guys don't buy that much new clothes anymore. It was used to be like 5 sets of new clothes (more for the gals), but now, it is just not practical to go hunt for 15 sets of clothes. I rather stay at home and play computer games. Hahaha.

This year is even worse. I won't be going back Penang for CNY because my semester going to start 1 week after CNY, and my summer project hasn't end until the Fifth day of CNY... I reckon I will be missing CNY next year as well. Oh well, change is inevitable.
Okay better go back to my 8k report... 恭喜發財 (Gong Xi Fa Chai/ Kung Hei Fatt Choi/ Keong Hee Huat Chai)

Melbourne Trip - Makan Trip

It was 6am in the morning. I was woken up by my bloody stupid alarm clock of my mobile phone. I remembered now, Wayne and I are heading to the city. Yeah you get me right, 6am wake up just for city ‘dwelling’. I was convincing myself that Wayne would not able to wake up at this ungoshly hour and I should just go back to sleep. But my room phone rang and disproved my convincement. It was already 6.10am when I realise I really need to be at the bus stop at 6.45am…

Rush rush rush, was pretty blur with everything exactly. Well manage to pack my clothes and other junks into 1 bag. Other stuffs were kinda blur. Reach Morwell earlier than we planned for and headed to city earlier! Just when we were about to reach city, we were being FFK-ed (Fong Fay Kay-ed) by Ammie… Second time of FFK-ing. Anyway, reach Melbourne early and Vivien hadn’t wake up yet. Both of us are being stupid and bored, went to hunt for a cheap and good place to cut my hair.

Hunted for quite sometime and place, around Chinatown, and around Melbourne Central. Little that we know, when we were about to give up home (or I was about to give up home), we found a salon. Cheap, 20 bucks with washing the hair, and a great cut by a Korean guy. Luckily we were up early and there was not much appointment that day. I am so damn happy, finally found some great stylist who can cut my hair without me regretting it when I go out of the salon. Wayne’s hair was cut by a local Aussie, typical Aussie boring type. Sorry Wayne, I need to snatch the Korean stylist.

We were just too free that the reason we went down to City was because of Wayne’s convincing me about pretty showgals and cars for the F1-showcase. It turns out to be just an old unused F1 car with a plump Indian lady with uniform…. Total disaster! But that Haircut was a total Success! After taking so grafitti pictures, we went to hunt for Chee Heong’s Olympus camera cable. It was bloody expensive, 53bucks for 1 cable…

That was about that time when Vivz called me. Went to Melbourne Central to find her and we started heading to place for Dim Sum (for lunch). Just when we were walking to Chinatown, along Swanton Street, we passed Ghao Khin (reckon it spelt that way), Vivz was saying Chun Yau was working over there. After long time spotting him, we did went in and dine, just of Chun Yau sake. Hehhee

Thai foods were nice; soft shelled crab with spicy papaya salad! Oh the toilet was even better; both Vivz and I agreed on that. Not that I went to the same toilet with Vivz… Anyway, then we head to Smith Street. Quite far from the CBD, no idea how to go there in the beginning. When we reach CBD, Wayne had only 1 hour before he need to go back to Gippsland. I will be staying overnight in my aunt place, so being more relax than him.

Now I know why my other friends like to go Smith Street! A road with all the factory outlet from the famous sportwears: Adidas, Nike, Fila, Billabong etc etc. They were bloody cheap as well. But I need to stop buying. After 2 hours over there, Wayne really need to go back to Flinders Street Station.

Send him off; Vivz and I started walking up the CBD, was planning to call it a day. Then realise I will be meeting my Aunt in Vic Market at 8.30pm. Went for a drink (because both of us are thirsty) at a restaurant of an alley. Unique Melbourne style restaurant. Then as it was still early, we went back to Vivz place and had a few chit chat with Audrey.

After The Simpsons, we went out for dinner. Was planning to go to Jackies Kitchen, but that place on that day was eccentrically and unbelievably empty. Dare not to go in and dine, we headed to a Korean restaurant. That place was awesome, good Korean style foods, too bad I can’t eat beef and Audrey and Vivien can’t eat spicy. All we had are Chicken Bibimbap, Chicken Ginseng, and some mix veggie hotplate. The dishes were so huge, but luckily we can finish those.
Of course the other days involved of me hidding in the house for fear of the 38 degree day and having Peking Duck!!! Yummy!!!
PS. No Peking Duck picture. Hand is just too dirty to take any picture

Distance Relationship

Sometime when I looked at my friend's relationship, they always get me pondering. Two of my best friends, Nina and Hooi Yee, got boyfriends from A-levels, one in Singapore and another one in Hong Kong. People should know who are they, oh well the A-Level Monkey should know.

Anyway what is the good thing with distance relationship? Distance relationship means you need to go through the hell of time without each other. Having this fear that that person might went and find another partner and left you behind. Having this constant disbelieve. Feeling the same feeling as a Single Person, just that you got some person to release your stress!

Well from this fear and disbelieve, most of the relationship will just go down hill... Having such feeling, you might be single again... Then there is another question, Is it a good thing to start a relationship from a distance relationship?

Let put it in a case. Let say Adam is living in Ipoh, and Eve is living in Kuala Lumpur. The distance between Ipoh and KL is about 2 hours. Adam knows Eve when Eve is studying in Ipoh. However only when Eve had moved back to KL, Adam got closer with Eve and vice versa. Although it is only 2hour distance, is it a good to start this relationship? AND although they get closer, does it means that Eve will like Adam back? Maybe Adam's feeling is just admire? not love? So one good advice, don't think too much. Just do it.

Love and relationship is not like mathematics. One plus one is not equal to two. There is no direct answer and there is no expiry date for such thing as well. Valentine is coming soon, to all the single people, keep up your good work in finding the ONE. To all the couple, don't lazy and buy a super lousy present that make the date dumped you on the spot! Hehehehe
